Airport Operations

Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport is owned by the City of Sarnia. Scottsdale Aviation is responsible for the operation of the airport on behalf of the City, including meeting the facility’s regulatory obligations as a certified airport and maintaining the airside and groundside areas. Maintenance is provided on a year-round basis by the Scottsdale Aviation team.

The Airport is staffed from 8:00 AM – 5:00PM Monday to Friday and 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Operational services can be requested outside of these hours with two-hour prior notice by contacting Scottsdale Aviation at 519-542-7767 or 519-381-3444 after hours. Call-out charges may apply.

Fixed Base Operators

Huron Aviation provides above / below the wing air carrier ground handling services and a full range of Fixed-Base Operator services. Conveniently located at the terminal building apron, services provided by Huron Aviation include:

·       Mobile jet refuelling

·       Type I and IV de-icing

·       28 V ground power

·       Pre-conditioned air

·       Baggage handling and passenger processing

Canada Border Services

Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport is designated by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) as an Airport of Entry/30, which authorizes the airport for the clearance of all classes of scheduled and unscheduled aircraft, including both travellers and cargo. A maximum of 30 passengers can be cleared by CBSA at the airport.

Prior Notice is required. CBSA AOE services can be requested at 1-888-226-7277 (8:00 AM – 11:00 PM daily).
